About Me

An individual, of no great importance, who is unable to see the natural world as a place for competition. I catch fish, watch birds, derive immense pleasure from simply looking at butterflies, moths, bumble-bees, etc - without the need for rules! I am Dylan and this is my blog - if my opinions offend? Don't bother logging on again - simple!

December - they're still active

I never envisaged being able to say anything positive about the Covid-19 pandemic situation but, if not for the "lockdown", hedgehogs would still be well off the radar in a garden perspective. It is 100% down to the influence of Julie & Gary Pearse that I now find myself so embroiled in such a hedgehog fest! December sightings? Surely they're not normal? Think again - we're seeing hedgehogs at the feeding station every night!

18th December 2020 - what's going on?

I've already posted about this crazy scenario, on my main blog but, will also mention it here. I'm now targeting a hedgehog photo on 25th December. Is it possible? It will depend upon how much San Miquel has been consumed during the preceding few hours. Knowing that I'm out pike fishing, on Boxing Day, should ensure I've half a chance? This is such a new avenue of exploration that I have no preconception of just what is possible. Hedgehogs - what a superb privilege to have these animals visiting our garden - whatever month of the year!

One year into my adventure

If it hadn't been for the situation created by the pandemic, I'm not too sure that the garden hedgehogs would have played any part ...
